To keep the grass green all year round, you should nourish it every 6 months with Nitrogen (Urea). When applying it (it comes granulated) you should water abundantly or take advantage of a good rain, to prevent it from burning and turning yellow. Tener un buen manto de Césped en el Patio o Jardín es uno de los más importantes anhelos de las personas que aman las plantas.
Para lograrlo te daré unos cuantos consejos aquí y ahora.
Lo primero que debes hacer es decidir si vas a colocar champas (o Césped en rollo) o si lo vas a sembrar. En ambos casos debes picar la tierra con una azadita y luego rastrillar para sacar malezas o piedras. Una vez alisado el terreno, podes colocar las semillas o las champas.
Si siembras (semillas), te aconsejo las mezclas de Rai Grass y Bermuda. Se puede mezclar hasta 11 variedades diferentes para lograr un manto parejo y que cubra todo el año. Algunas variedades son de frio o sombra, y otras para pleno sol o deportivos por ejemplo. Una ves esparcidas las semillas, deberás cubrirlas con una mínima capa de tierra o arena para que los pájaros no las coman. Con buen riego germinan en una semana. Recién le darás el primero corte cuando los brotes tengan 10 cm de altura. Mientras tanto debes evitar su pisoteo.
Si has optado por champas, puedes hacerlo cubriendo al 100 % o por sistema de Damero. En es segundo caso toma la precaución de nivelar bien después de colocado el césped para que cuando lo cortes, este quede bien parejo.
Por último un consejo de Jardinero. Para mantener el pastito verde todo el año deberás nutrirlo cada 6 meses con Nitrógeno (Urea). Al aplicarlo (viene granulado) deberás regar abundantemente o aprovechar una buena lluvia, para evitar que se queme y ponga amarillo.
